KNYSNA NEWS - Preparations for the Knysna Motor Show are in full swing with the organisers, the Garden Route Motor Club, gearing up to host the annual show at Thesen Harbour Town on Sunday 30 April.
It is one of the most anticipated events in the region for car enthusiasts and casual visitors alike.
There will be an impressive collection of vintage, classic and modern cars, motorcycles, and other vehicles, as well as a small display of classic boats.
The show has been running for over a decade and takes place a week ahead of the Simola Hillclimb, a premium South African motorsport and lifestyle event.
The setting for Knysna Motor Show is one of the most picturesque imaginable. Thesen Harbour Town provides the perfect backdrop for the diverse range of vehicles on display, from classic American muscle cars to sleek European sports cars.
The show typically attracts a wide range of exhibitors including private collectors, car clubs and specialised dealers. Visitors can expect to see some of the most sought-after vehicles in the world, including rare and exotic cars that are rarely seen on the roads.
One of the highlights of the show is the opportunity to interact with the owners of these incredible machines, who are more than happy to share the stories behind their prized possessions.
In addition to the impressive display of vehicles and boats, Knysna Motor Show together with Thesen Harbour Town offers a range of facilities and activities for visitors of all ages.
There is always coffee available, as well as a range of local restaurants and specialist vendors for those looking for that special item. It is a family event and children are welcome, so why not make a day of it?
Prize cars such as this Porsche 911 are always on show too.
Knysna Motor Show is also a charitable event, with Rotary Knysna as a partner to ensure that a portion of the proceeds of the day is channelled to local needs and charities.
So, in addition to providing an entertaining and exciting day out for car enthusiasts and visitors to the region, the show also contributes to the well-being of the local community.
Knysna Motor Show is an event not to be missed by anyone with an interest in cars or automotive history or just the beauty of Knysna and its estuary.
Whether you are a serious collector or just enjoy admiring the beauty and craftsmanship of classic and modern vehicles and boats, the show offers something for everyone.
The Knysna Motor Show will run from 10:00 to 16:00, and tickets are available for people 13 and over, with no entry charge for accompanied children under the age of 12.
