KNYSNA NEWS - PROPERTY-RELATED INCIDENTS:
TOWN AREA
BURGLARY - WATERFRONT DR (Thurs 23 August @ 01h10) – Vehicle was dispatched to a panic signal and owner was notified to open up for Officers to investigate. Suspects had entered via the roof and tried to disable the alarm system. Suspects fled when officers arrived on the scene. Owner confirmed that cash was stolen. 3 Suspects were arrested within 12 hours and linked to the break-in.
SHOPLIFTING - WATERFRONT DR (Thurs 23 August @ 14h50) – Client reported that a suspect stole meat from their business. A description was provided and area was searched. No case was opened.
SHOPLIFTING - MAIN RD (Fri 24 August @ 13h51) - Allsound guards requested assistance after suspect grabbed merchandise and fled. Suspect was recognised and apprehended by Guards a few days later when he returned. Case was opened.
THEFT - NEWTON ST (Sat 25 August @ 15h09) - Client telephoned to report that his weedeater was stolen from the garden. No description available. Client would open case with SAPS.
SHOPLIFTING - MAIN RD (Sat 25 August @ 15h12) - Allsound Guard requested SAPS following the arrest of a female suspect with shoplifted goods to the value of R3800. Cases were opened and suspect was handed over.
SHOPLIFTING - MAIN RD (Sun 26 August @ 12h21) - Allsound Guards apprehended a suspect for shoplifting and recovered the stolen item. SAPS were notified, case opened and charged the suspect.
BURGLARY - WATERFRONT DR (Mon 27 August @ 08h01) - Client phoned in to report that their shop window was broken and items were pulled out of the display. Time of incident was unknown. SAPS were notified and a case was opened.
SHOPLIFTING - MAIN ST (Mon 27 August @ 15h42) - Allsound Guards apprehended a suspect for shoplifting. SAPS were notified, case was opened and suspect was charged.
SHOPLIFTING - NELSON ST (Mon 27 August @ 17h16) - Allsound guards chased a suspect and caught him in Nelson street. SAPS were notified but did not open a case and suspect was released.
POSSESSION OF STOLEN GOODS - MAIN RD (Wed 29 August @ 11h30) - Allsound guards apprehended a suspected identified from an earlier shoplifting. The suspect was searched and found to be in possession of 4 pairs of jeans which were linked to a shoplifting in Plettenberg Bay. Suspect was handed over to SAPS.
SHOPLIFTING - MAIN RD (Wed 29 August @ 15h12) - Officer responded to a panic alarm after suspect grabbed a packet of sweets and fled. Area was searched, no arrests made.
OLD PLACE / COSTA SARDA
ATTEMPTED BURGLARY - SUN VALLEY DR (Thurs 23 August @ 22h16) - Client activated the panic alarm after a suspect tried to open door and tried to climb through window. Suspect fled, no description available. Nothing reported missing.
HUNTERS HOME / REXFORD / FISHER HAVEN
THEFT - SUNNINGHILL DR (Wed 29 August @ 04h00) - A witness telephoned our Control Room to report seeing people carrying building materials up the road. Officers responded and recovered some items which were then traced back to a nearby building site. Owner of the property opened a case with SAPS for further investigation.
BRENTON ON SEA / LAKE BRENTON
BURGLARY - STEENBRAS STR (Sun 26 August @ 16h54) - Keyholder telephoned to report that there were 2 flats broken into (no alarms). The timeframe was unknown, initial confirmation was that a flat screen TV was stolen. SAPS were notified and a case was opened.
