KNYSNA NEWS - On 7 December, the Knysna community attended a community imbizo on crime prevention at the Concordia High School hall.
Various stakeholders, including the police, Knysna Alcohol and Drug Centre (KADC), the Knysna Community Police Forum, and the Knysna Municipality participated.
Crime-related issues were addressed and solutions to combat these challenges were suggested. The need for collaboration among law enforcement, administrative officials and citizens was highlighted.
The event focused on visible policing and efficient operational procedures, with the Hawks, IEC, and the Department of Correctional Services playing significant roles in ensuring community safety.
Knysna Mayor Aubrey Tsengwa requested the national Deputy Minister of Police, Cassel Mathale, to consider opening a satellite police station.
The municipality further emphasised the importance of collaboration between administrative officials and the community in creating a safer environment for all residents.
