KNYSNA NEWS - Two old age homes in Knysna were the recipients of welcome donations recently thanks to a recent potjiekos competition.
The Knysna Deep Sea Club hosted the contest with SuperSpar Knysna being the main sponsor.
Teams entered at R50 per team member and meals from the potjies were sold at R20 per plate.
In total, R4 500 was raised by this initiative, after which the club committee first had to decide what to spend the funds on.
They saw Loeriehof and Vermont Centre as the perfect recipients and soon 720 diapers were bought, which was then split between the two homes.
The official handover was done on 9 November.
At the Vermont Centre handover of adult diapers were (from left) Knysna Deep Sea Club chair Peet Stander, Vermont Centre general assistant Maria Bekker, SuperSpar manager Leon Terblanche, Vermont finance clerk Nico de Vos and sister Pelisa Ngewu.
