KNYSNA NEWS - September is International Tourism Month with this year’s global theme being "tourism and the digital transformation".
With this theme in mind, the Greater Knysna tourism information office will be running a cellphone photographic and videography competition for locals that will call for the community to show their favourite local experiences and locations and in the process help promote our beautiful destination and our town’s economy.
There are three different categories to choose from:
- Adventure and Activities in Greater Knysna – cellphone photograph.
- Food and Culture – cellphone photograph.
- Or a short cellphone film representing the Greater Knysna area.
The best short films will be combined creating a video showing the world the paradise we live in.
These will focus on all of Greater Knysna and surrounds – Sedgefield, Karatara, Rheenendal, Hornlee, northern suburbs, Brenton-on-Sea, Buffalo Bay, and Belvidere.
Entry forms will be available from the tourism information office and the municipality Youth Centres from 10 September 2018 and the winners will be announced at a venue to be announced on International Tourism Day on 27 September.
We encourage all the schools in Greater Knysna to encourage their learners to participate.
Tourism establishments that would like to give discounts on their products so they can be included in the content are welcome to phone 044 382 5510 or email bhobson@knysna.gov.za.
