BUSINESS NEWS - Health Wellness Services (HWS), which provides professional healthcare training to students at a state-of-the-art facility in Knysna, has launched a new wing, a caring agency, through which its top graduates fulfil personal health needs at homes and institutions.
The agency was officially launched at a gala graduation ceremony two weeks ago, where 89 HWS - a registered training provider and corporate member of the SA Institute of Occupational Safety and Health - students received their certificates.
The graduates completed HWS' Home Based Caring course and its Health Care Assistant Caring course, undertaken in Knysna, and at HWS' branch in Sedgefield.
The courses include practical training at institutions. The Home Based Caring course costs R3 300, and the Health Care Assistant Caring course R4 500, and both can be paid for in three instalments.
Nikkie Reinecke, the CEO and founder of HWS, says, "I keep my prices down to help those in our community who can't afford to go to university. People can build their lives through these courses".
Nikkie is excited about her new venture, the Health Wellness Caring Agency (HWCA), a natural extension of HWS.
HWCA's staff provide personalised care to people at their homes and care homes, including frail care and disability care. It offers customised packages to prospective clients.
Nikkie says: "Our top students - outstanding, dedicated, remarkable, caring people - are now available to provide specialised care services at homes and institutions.
"Sister Tammy Sinek, the head of HWCA, and the coordinator of HWS, visits prospective clients to determine their specific needs and then arranges for them to be met."
