open the Ladies’ Club, as the two businessescomplement one another completely,” said Bob Stannard, co-owner of both the Ladies’ Club and Men’s Club.
The Men’s Club, a barber shop with a difference, opened its doors towards the end of 2011 and has proven to be such a resounding success, that owners Bob and Bridget Stannard decided to open a similar salon for ladies.
“We were asked by so many ladies when they would be getting their own ‘club’, that it made perfect sense to open another one which would cater exclusively for ladies,” said Bridget.
The Ladies’ Club, a hop across the way from the Men’s Club in the Knysna Mall, sees to the needs of ladies’ hair, using and selling only Paul Mitchell products. The Ladies’Club not only offers its clients competitive prices but “all our clients that have their hair cut or blow-waved on a weekly basis enjoy special reduced prices. Clients are impressedwith the skills of Ingrid Miles, ex-Simola, our colour technician” added Bridget.
“Our Monday specials have proved to be unbelievably popular with the senior citizens of Knysna, and our main focus is on building a lasting relationship with the Knysna locals,” said Bob.
The two salons are interlinked by means of an intercom which means that Bob and Bridget are constantly in contact with clients and staff in both salons, which ensures that neither salon could double-book the massage room, situated in the Men’s Club, and used by both ‘clubs’, where clients enjoy expert pedicures, manicures and massages.
Now that the Ladies’ Club is open, both men and women are able to sit back and enjoy being pampered by expert staff while enjoying a free cup of coffee.
Both Men’s and Ladies’ Clubs are situated in the Knysna Mall and can be reached on (Ladies’ Club) 044 382 2669 and (Men’s Club) 044 382 2521.
