KNYSNA BUSINESS NEWS - Don't let the bright and colourful walls fool you, early childhood development (ECD) is not child's play. Well… playing is an important part of early learning, but what many of us don't realise is the importance of the teacher in making this play meaningful.
Yes, we all have a special place in our hearts for someone who is patient and cares for our children. However, don't make the mistake of believing that a child will thrive and grow towards their highest potential without the right guidance, tools and stimulation presented at the right time.
Doing it right as a teacher is a learnt skill for our little ones to go from surviving to thriving! This competency requires structured levels of training to make real learning fun and incidental.
Now we are talking! Help the valued nanny become an empowered teacher and give little ones a better chance to thrive physically, emotionally and mentally. The Knysna Education Trust-certified Basic Child Care Course fulfills this need.
This course covers topics such as norms and standards of development, and how to apply these while looking after a child, positive behaviour management, first aid and much more.
This is a nationally and internationally recognised qualification.
There is also opportunity for the carer to grow along with the little one. From an NQF Level 4 ECD certificate, the student can progress to an NQF Level 5 certificate. The Level 5 programme prepares a teacher to comprehensively manage and administrate an ECD centre, including but not limited to modules covering competencies like administration, basic bookkeeping, planning and report writing.
A qualified nanny transforms playtime into fun, quality learning time.
