Despite government schools being scheduled to only open up on Monday 15 February, independent schools have been approved to reopen early. And so, with masks and sanitiser at the ready, the kiddies set off to make their mark on the big world on their first day of Grade 1 on Monday 1 February. The first day of school is always met with anxiousness and excitement, and this year the former might just take prevalence given the pandemic and threats of protest.
