KNYSNA NEWS - Knysna United RFC went down narrowly 25-22 against newly promoted Riversdal Rugby Club in a SWD Super B-league match last Saturday at Loerie Park. Riversdal stunned the home crowd with a try in the first few minutes of the game.
United however responded strongly with their trademark hard-running rugby to take a 17-8 lead at halftime.
The second half saw Riversdal regroup and come out with renewed energy to slowly chip away at the lead.
With just two minutes left, the scores were tied at 22-22. In a nail-biting finale, Riversdal seized the moment with a drop goal, clinching their first-ever league victory in Knysna.
Knysna United B-team
The game of the Knysna United B-team also proved to be a great match. The forwards of the home team dominated, racing to a 27-7 lead at halftime.
Riversdal's resilience shone through in the second half, but United held firm, securing a 37-19 victory.
