MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The SACD's A and C men's teams and the women's A team bested Gauteng's Northerns during the 66th Growthpoint Jarvis Kaplan Interprovincial Squash Tournament.
The A teams went head to head on the all-glass court in the Mossel Bay Town Hall, while the SACD C men battled it out at the Mossel Bay Squash Court on Friday 10 July.
The top men's and women's teams from across the country had been competing in the tournament on squash courts in Mossel Bay, George and Great Brak River since the tournament began on Monday 6 July, playing exciting games over the five days.
SACD's A teams, the defending champions of the Jarvis (men) and Kaplan (women) cups, emerged victorious at the end, but not without a fight from the Gauteng teams. In both the men's and women's finals, the cup was only secured in the fifth and final match played. The C team, on the other hand, managed to win four out of their five matches against Northerns C, claiming their section's cup, the Banana Bowl. One of these winning matches was thanks to Knysna local Oz Campbell.
This year, the tournament was hosted in the Garden Route for the first time, and included more than 200 players.
