SOUTHERN CAPE NEWS - The Senior Womens Golf South Africa's 19th National Championships were held in Cape Town at a 3-day event and the large field of 180 players had to fight the elements as well at the Mowbray Park & Rondebosch golf courses.

Rain, fog and low temperatures were very testing for the participants.

A total of 21 players rom the Southern Cape participated in the challenging conditions and showed their steel.
However, they were not deterred and returned with 6 prizes.

The Medal runners-up in their age groups were Trish Leach (Knysna) and Rita Herholdt (Mossel Bay, plus an Alliance prize). The Stableford runners-up in their age groups were Stephanie Bennett (George), Dorette McGill (Knysna) and Celeste van der Westhuizen (George).
