KNYSNA NEWS - The Southern Stars Ladies once again underlined their dominance in local women's football by defeating Sinako Ladies 2-0 in the Knysna Oyster Festival final at Loerie Park Stadium last weekend.
The Stars made an impressive start, taking control of the match from the opening whistle and putting sustained pressure on Sinako's defence with their attacking play.
The breakthrough came in the first half as the Stars scored twice to take a comfortable 2-0 lead into the half-time break.
Sinako responded with greater urgency after the restart, but despite both teams creating opportunities, neither side was able to add to the scoreline.
The Southern Stars controlled possession in the closing stages to protect their advantage and secure the Oyster Festival women's title.
Other results
In the U13 division, FC Hope edged Young Boys FC out 1-0, while Sinako FC claimed the U15 title with a 1-0 victory over Young Blood FC.
