With about 98 months left on his contract with the NPA - Nxasana was paid out to compensate for his early leave from one of the country's most powerful justice posts.
According to The Citizen, Nxasana's hefty golden shake does not include benefits such as pension.
The daily reports that Nxasana's salary was the equivalent to that of a Supreme Court of Appeal judge as found in the government gazette volume 595, number 38433.
His salary was pegged at R173 489 per month. This was confirmed by Bulelwa Makeke, NPA spokesperson.
