PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - A public tip-off led to the arrest of two men after police found an unlicensed firearm during a raid in Plettenberg Bay.
According to the Southern Cape Police’s spokesperson, Warrant Officer Chris Spies, Plettenberg Bay detectives received information about alleged criminal activities at about 12:00 on Tuesday 7 July.
Acting on the information, officers raided a house in Bossiesgif, Plettenberg Bay, where they searched the premises and discovered a 9mm pistol.
The firearm was confiscated and two suspects, aged 22 and 26, were arrested.
The pair appeared in the Plettenberg Bay Magistrate’s Court on Thursday 9 July, on charges relating to the unlawful possession of a firearm. They were remanded in custody and the matter was postponed to 21 July for a bail application.
