KNYSNA NEWS - In honour of Youth Day last Thursday, 16 June, the Hornlee e-Centre (located behind the Hornlee Civic Hall) welcomed youths from the area for a quick motivational event.

A blast in colour, it was a fun event where young individuals could come together and give motivational talks, to encourage one another to keep chasing their dreams, and to positively impact the lives of those around them.

Speaking on the importance of the day, development manager of the centre Constance Shangase said, "This is the day SA reflects on the massacre of school children during the Soweto uprising of 1976. 

The year 2022 marks 46 years since the 1976 student uprising. 

Our youth are currently in a constant struggle. Right now we are fighting things like unemployment, depression and anxiety. So let us continue to work together as a community to nourish these shoots of growth in pursuit of our common, brighter future!"
