Update
KNYSNA NEWSFLASH -The four men accused of the murder of ANC ward councillor Victor Molosi will remain in police custody until 12 September when their formal bail application hearings will start at the Knysna Magistrate’s Court.
During today’s hearing, Thursday 23 August, a large contingent of ANC supporters and Greater Knysna community members gathered outside the court building – as they have at previous appearances of the accused – and again demanded that no bail be granted.
This time though, a formal petition accompanied their various chants and songs, which was handed over to head control prosecutor in Knysna, Johan Engelbrecht.
Three of the men, Mawande Makhala, Vela Dumile and Knysna councillor Velile Waxa, stand accused of premeditated murder. Knysna Taxi Forum secretary Mandla Tyololo of conspiracy to commit murder. All four men appeared in a packed-to-capacity courtroom.
