Update: Karate coach child porn case

GARDEN ROUTE NEWS - The karate sensei who was arrested on charges of creation and possession of child pornography last year, will appear in the George Regional Court again on Tuesday 21 July.

The case was postponed last week after the accused appointed new legal representation. Nico Smit will now be representing him.

The sensei, who may not yet be named as he has not yet pleaded, was arrested on 1 August 2014 after a tip-off from the public.

During a police search of his premises, the George Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit (FCS) confiscated his laptop and desktop computer to analyse it for pornographic material.

Police found a video clip constituting child pornography.
