KNYSNA NEWS FLASH - The third of the three ex-navy cutters rescued from obscurity by Lieutenant Commander Steve Eriksen of the Knysna Sea Cadets was named to honour Judy and Hjalmar Thesen, by the Thesen family.
Named Seahorse II, she was launched at the Knysna Yacht Club by Hatti Thesen of the well known Knysna Thesen family.
There is a romantic link to the name chosen for the boat.
When Judy and Hjalmar were newlyweds they had no home and an uncle lent them a houseboat moored near Crabs Creek. This 'honeymoon home' for a year was named Seahorse.
The first two cutters were sponsored by the Parkes/Fraser family and the Van Reenen family.
