PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS FLASH - The body of a Wittedrift resident was found in a pool of blood in his home.

Plettenberg Bay police spokesperson, Captain Marlene Pieterse said police initially responded to reports of a suspicious black BMW in the Pine Trees area in New Horizons at about 09:00 on Sunday, March 12.

“When police arrived in the area, they spotted the black BMW and saw the occupants busy changing the vehicle’s number plates. The suspects then ran away,” Pieterse said.

She added that local police – along with two Tsitsikamma K9 unit vehicles – then gave chase. “The vehicle was searched and contact details of the owner were found. Police members contacted the owner who confirmed that his car was supposed to be with a man living in Heuwel Street in Wittedrift.”

Pieterse said when police arrived at the house in Heuwel Street, they found all the doors locked. When they, however, peered through a glass door, they noticed a man lying in a pool of blood in the home’s passage. The body was covered with a white blanket.
