KNYSNA NEWS - The influential private Facebook group Knysna Gossip Girls (KGG ) community, now almost 2 000 members strong, held an open meeting at Woodlands Self-Catering on Saturday, June 27, to brain-storm and be together in person, but also to raise money for the Knysna Animal Welfare Society (KAWS).
The group is well-known in Knysna for its members' fundraising efforts and in particular, their emphasis on the promotion of local business.
Other initiatives include reuniting people with lost pets and helping in various situation where people have lost their belongings in fires and other disaster situations, from the smallest, but meaningful gestures of help to assisting in kitting out homes and schools for the poor.
The group members are all women local to Knysna.
These KGG meetings are held in aid of charity and afford local businesses a chance to showcase their products to all members through social media.
Saturday’s meeting, which was open to all KGG members, was hosted by Woodlands Self Catering located on the Rheenendal Road near Knysna. The guesthouse has four beautifully furnished self-catering suites, all overlooking the indigenous Knysna Forest.
The units are fully equipped and offer all modern conveniences.
Fine weather, the beautiful fynbos gardens, tasty snacks, lots to drink and great company all contributed to a most enjoyable day.
An added benefit was the free eyebrow waxing and shaping on offer and the raffle to win treatment vouchers from Mint Mobile Therapy.
A total of R660 was raised for the Knysna Animal Welfare Society.
