KNYSNA NEWS - Fifteen years ago an accident on the N2 claimed the life of a young man, Eugene Ah Goo, whose mother Loryn Ah Goo still remembers him fondly.
Eugene was born on 25 March 1975, and grew up in Knysna as someone who fully embraced and embodied the ubuntu spirit, according to his mother.
Eugene spent his time working as an electrician for the municipality and was often very kind to the members of the community he helped through his work, she says.
But, things were about to change drastically for the Ah Goo family on 1 May 2004. "Eugene had turned on to the N2 opposite the bakery, and then he hit a cow," Loryn said.
Eugene had survived the initial impact, but succumbed to his injuries thereafter, passing away at the age of 29.
