PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS FLASH - A nasty incident involving two tourists who were robbed along Plettenberg Bay’s beachfront, ended on a happier note when the cooperation between local crime fighters led to the apprehension of the suspects and the recovery of the stolen goods just minutes after the incident.

Plettenberg Bay Crime Prevention Association (PBCPA) operations head Otto Olivier said that two foreign tourists reported to a Blue Bay security guard that they had been robbed along the walkway near The Wedge at about 16:35 on Monday March 13.

“The security officer immediately requested assistance on the PBCPA ‘react group and mentioned what had been stolen, gave a description of the suspects and what they were wearing and said the suspects had fled in the direction of Lemon Grass (restaurant),” Olivier said.

Within minutes several security companies – including Plett Security, Prime Security, Smhart Alarms and ADT – as well as Plett Watch members responded by cordoning off the area.
