KNYSNA NEWS - Brenton-on-Sea and Buffels Bay have lost Blue Flag status.
The Knysna Acting Municipal Manager, Johnny Douglas confirmed that he has received correspondence from WESSA with regard to Knysna's 2 Blue Flag beaches, Brenton-on-Sea and Buffels Bay.
"The Knysna Municipality has been given 10 days to respond and rectify a few technical issues. The issues addressed by WESSA are of such a nature that they are already being rectified and I am 100 percent convinced that our Blue Flags will once again be flying high before 16 January.
It must be noted that all water samples were done and the results of these show that our Blue Flag beaches' water quality is of excellent quality, showing no grown of Faecal Coliforms, Eschericia coli and Intestinal Enterococci (Faecal Stretococci)."
