NATIONAL NEWS - The wait is nearly over for the matric class of 2017 as they countdown the last few anxious days to the day of reckoning.
The Minister of Basic Education Angie Motshekga will release the 2017 matric results on Thursday 4 January.
Thousands of learners will descend on their schools and examination centres at midday on Friday 5 January 2018 to collect their results.
The results should also be available online through various news portals and on the Department of Education’s website.
A total of 802 636 candidates wrote matric this year.
Last year the Free State was the best performing province with a pass rate of 88,2%, followed by the Western Cape with 86% and then Gauteng 85,1% and North West 82,5%, while the Eastern Cape was the lowest, with a pass rate of just 63.3%.
If you’re a learner waiting for your results try and relax, as most of you have done everything in your power to achieve the best possible result you are capable of.
