KNYSNA NEWS - This year, the Loerie Park feeding scheme (LPFS) has been blessed with donations to keep the scheme alive.
Thank you to all our donors for making this possible.
Currently, the scheme feeds on average 60 people each morning.
Since the Knysna fires, many more have joined the queues to fill their hungry tummies.
The feeding scheme is a constant for them and creates a happy space for anyone to gather, chat, share their stories and enjoy a sandwich.
The LPFS teamed up with other charities this year to ensure those who have lost so much in the fires receive assistance with food, clothing and rebuilding their homes.
We fed the firemen, and anyone passing by our distribution point, including many heading to the Knysna Hospital when it was temporarily set up at Loerie Park.
The scheme was founded seven years ago and relies on donations to provide sandwiches and fruit to these jobseekers during weekdays.

Clare Bosman, one of the organisers, says the huge advantage of this charity is that every cent goes directly into food.
Recently, Christmas parcels were handed out to the jobseekers. Please remember these gentlemen if you are looking for assistance during the holidays.
Anyone willing to lend a hand or make a donation can phone Clare Bosman on 082 663 3094.
