KNYSNA NEWS - Photos of grunter and other fish swimming happily with a seal in the Knysna estuary, posted by a local Knysna doctor, created quite a buzz on social media this weekend.
In the photos, taken on his GoPro underwater camera, he managed to capture a seal swimming with grunter and dozens of big fish.
The amazing spectacle photographed by Maarsingh, on January 3 around noon, was taken in the main channel at Leisure Isle near Bollard’s Bay when the water was teaming with boats.
“It was the crazy season. There were boats and people everywhere, but despite this the seal and the fish seemed oblivious to it all and quite happy,” said Maarsingh.
He said he jumped quickly off his boat into the water to capture the photograph with his GoPro camera without diving equipment let alone a snorkel or mask.
“Very special,” he said.
Facebook comments showed the Knysna community were delighted and thrilled with the post he shared.
