Pink Loerie Festival is here!
KNYSNA NEWS - Today is the kick-off of the Annual Pink Loerie Festival in Knysna. People from across the country flock to this popular and well-known event annually - transforming the town of Knysna into a pink festival of fun and entertainment.
This year the Pink Loerie Festival (April 27 until May 1) has several new categories and prizes, sponsored by Club Travel Honeydew.
Prizes are no longer only for participants in the actual festival, but also for participating window displays.
Best Window Display
Three nights stay in a five-star hotel in Johannesburg or surroundings with bed and breakfast for two people could be won for the best window display.
Best Dressed in Parade
Prizes for the best dressed in the street prarde include three nights stay in a 5-star hotel in George or surroundings with bed and breakfast for two people.
Mr Mardi Gras
Winners in this category walk away with approximately R50 000 in prizes.
Two economy class return tickets from Johannesburg to exotic Mumbai, India,
Return airport transfers,
Five nights in a 5-star hotel (including breakfast),
Airport taxes included.
Other prizes include:
A weekend at 5-star Kat-Man-Doo in Dullstroom,
R3500 Chris Winspear Jewellery,

Pedestrians and floats are to be ready at 14:00 in Queen Street to commence the Parade on Saturday, April 30.
Pedestrians need not fill in an application form to participate but need to sign an indemnity form at the starting point (legal requirement).
The entry forms for the floats are available on the Pink Loerie website, www.pinkloerie.co.za under info.
Volunteers to act as pink police are needed. Interested parties are asked to e-mail email@example.com and send a copy to

Four legged friends
Royal Canin, has sponsored a doggy walk with prizes for the best dressed dogs. The organisers of the parade encourage dogs and their owners to join the parade on Saturday, April 20, from 14:30 and ensure that there will be watering points along the route.

R200 000 Noetzie Competition
Make a donation payment to stand a chance of winning this R200 000 prize.
Every R5 donation paid to the Pink Loerie Festival six charities, such as the Masezame Art Project, Loeriehof Old Age Home, Animal Shelter etc. gets one entry. In otherwords, R50 = 10 entries.
The cellphone number acts as the reference on the EFT bank payment or deposit slip plus initials; this way the donor stays anonymous.
Directly after the parade at 17:00 at Zanzibar, the number will be called and whoever answers their phone at the venue will win the prize.
The organisers will continue calling until they have a winner.
