R10 000 bail for cocaine smugglers

KNYSNA NEWS - Mogamat Adams (41) and Beverly Jones (47) - two of the accused who were arrested in Knysna for the possession of cocaine to the value of an estimated R600 million - appeared in the Knysna magistrates' court before the weekend.

The suspects were both released on bail of R10 000 each, with strict conditions as follows:

-They must hand in all their travel documents and passports;

-They must inform the investigating officer when they leave the Cape Metropole;

-They are not allowed to go beyond the boundaries of South Africa or the Western Cape without the knowledge of the investigating officer;

-They are not allowed to leave the South African sea-border without the authorization of the court;

-They are not allowed to be within a 2km radius from an airport.

The accused are due to appear in the Knysna magistrate's court again on 5 April 2011.
