KNYSNA NEWS FLASH - Two local sailors, Georgeo Divaris and James Hellstrom won silver and bronze in the 2012 RS Tera World Championship sailed on Lake Iseo, Italy from August 6 to 10.
At the end of the first day's sailing Divaris was two points behind the Regatta leader from England and Hellstrom tied for third. At the end of the regatta, Divaris had closed the gap to one point, whilst Hellstrom finished third. So silver and bronze to Team Pine Lake Marina of South Africa.
"If Georgeo had one particular place better in any race it would have gone down to a tie-break," explained Alistair Fraser, Pine Lake Marina Yacht Club Committee member.
The RS Tera is a one-man mono-hull dinghy, a popular boat for beginners in the RS sailing range of sailing boats and the 2012 RS Tera World Championship is an important event for this class.
