Toerien to negotiate deal with state
Michael Toerien
KNYSNA NEWS - The court case of former Knysna broker, Michael Toerien has been postponed to Thursday, May 17 for a possible plea agreement.

“We are currently still busy with negotiations,” confirmed Toerien’s attorney, Alwyn Griebenow.

According to Griebenow this means that the defence and the state are trying to negotiate a plea of guilty with a guaranteed sentence to be imposed.

Toerien has not yet admitted guilt on any of the charges brought against him for the alleged misappropriation of clients’ funds, possibly to the sum total of several million Rand.
