Knysna
The Knysna Arts Festival 2015's official gala evening at Montesorri School attracted hundreds of people enjoying visual and performing art at its best, rounded off with wine, cheese and snacks, on Thursday evening, October 8. Guests' breath was taken away as Mel Elliot painted a work of art to music. He did this in 20 minutes in front of a full house of art lovers. Then the Percy Mdala High School Choir took the stage and performed the national anthem and traditional songs and dances, like Sajika Emambozana, Gqoboka Lomfazi and Runa Lipapala. Excerpts from the musical, Ilizwi, a Vuyo Jack Production written by Ingrid Wylde, were followed by readings from the work of Stan Holloway, by David Hall-Green, one of South Africa's first television personalities.
