The devastation of the severe drought that has swept the country in recent months have been seen first-hand by Bitou Horse Welfare volunteers who have been working to save horses in a poverty-stricken community in the Western Cape – with some of the horses having been brought to Rheenendal outside Knysna for rehabilitation.
